Twelfth Week Drawings

This week we got to play with sharpies and ink, so here we have a sharpie cross hatching image, and some of my favorite ink play pictures. It took me a little while to understand what I was doing with the ink but as soon as I figured it out it just got easier by leaps and bounds. Enjoy.

Eleventh Week Drawings

This week we got to expiriment with prisma colors! I absolutely loved this to bits. I chose purple, orange and yellow, and it felt like a fiesta on my page every time I used it. I also went with a cross hatching method cause it just felt right. Top image is one of my 15 minute poses, and bottom was our super long pose. I wish my phone had a better quality camera, my colors are really screwed up here but theres nothing I can do about it.

Tenth Week Drawings

So now that we've really gotten into drawing the male model, I feel like these drawings are some of my best pieces which is strange since I'm so comfortable with drawing females. I couldn't pick just two to post so here are three of my best from this week, I must add conte is such a wonderful medium to play with. It is growing on me!

Ninth Week Drawings

So this week was a bit of a flop when it came to models coming in, so I decided to post two homework assignments that we did at this time! Spinetopus and Shark vs. Man were my personal favorites so here they are.

Eighth Week Drawings

For this week we only had a model Tuesday so I will pick a favorite and my best from one day. Here at the top was a 5 minute pose, I just really loved her stance for this. And underneath was an interesting view from behind that took either 15 minutes or 30, I can't recall.

Seventh Week Drawings

For my featured piece of the week was our out of class assignment to make a full value composition with the skeleton hand. I like how there is suggested movement in the piece from the lighting, and the creepy long finger shadows. Also, for my drawing of the day, why not feature the image that got me out of class early? Thank you everyone for the votes!

Sixth Week Drawings

On top is my personal favorite of the week and below is my best of Thursday. I'm still experimenting with how I hold and use the stick charcoal, it is giving me different effects and I kinda like the shades and lines floating of the model.

Fifth Week Drawings

Now that we are working in charcoal, I feel like I have a little more liberty with my drawings. Graphite pencils are great but everything felt technical and not as free flowing, it made me think about my mark a little more than I feel I should. Here are the results after this week, the top two looking at our model, and the bones being my favorite image of the day.

Fourth Week Drawings

My favorite assignment for this week was to make a blind contour of ourselves. I was shocked to finish and have a recognizable face! Slow and steady won this race I guess?

Third Week Drawings

Here is my best of the week on top, this was also the image I used in the hallway. Below is my first attempt of cube proportions, it was my best of Tuesday's work.

Second Week Drawings

These were my top two images from the second week of drawing that I thought the form of the model's body stood out the best.

First Week Drawings

So during class we were given two very different instructions for two images we did on Thursday. One in which we couldn't make a hard edged outline to start with the image and the second image we were told to produce just an outline without shading. These were very fun for me to do and compare, here are my two pictures that I've produced for this class.
